As the world of information technology developed rapidly, the processing power of businesses also increased. Today, a very large number of businesses take advantage of computers to provide a quality service to their customers.

Blank invoice templates can be used to formulate invoices to customers. They are documents which help the user to create invoices. The template will have all the necessary fields of the invoice, such as the name of product/service, charge (price) and Grand total. All fields are left blank in the template. When the user wishes to create an invoice, he/she will have to fill the details regarding the invoice onto a copy of the template. This completed invoice can then either be printed out or e-mailed to the customer. There are many advantages in using templates to create invoices. One obvious advantage is that the user doesn’t have to retype each invoice separately. This saves an immense amount of time. The user is able to create a larger number of invoices (within a given time period), when using an invoice template.

Also the ‘degree of information’ of each invoice will be higher. This refers to the amount of information given to the customer. This degree of information is not likely to be achieved if templates were not used.

These blank invoice templates can be downloaded through the internet. There are many websites which provide such invoice templates to users. If the user is new to the use of invoice templates, then templates based on word processing software (such as Microsoft Word) should be used. This is because such templates simply need to be copied, pasted and then adjusted (filled), in order to create the invoice. If the user is experienced, then the template based on a spreadsheet package (such as Microsoft Excel) can be used.
